What our customers ask about Egypt and Turkey Tours & Trips
What's the best choice - combining Egypt and Turkey or doing separate trips?
You'll get more bang for your buck with a combined tour really - it's a smart way to pack in the highlights while cutting down on travel hassles. Take our 24-day Mediterranean Sea Tour that lets you experience everything from Istanbul's stunning Hagia Sophia to the incredible Pyramids of Giza. You'll love how it weaves together ancient stories with modern life showing you how these fascinating cultures have evolved side by side.
How can I really get to know the local culture in both places?
The bazaars are where the magic happens - Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and Cairo's Khan el-Khalili are perfect for diving into local life. Our 20-day Tastes tour takes you through both with expert guides who know all the hidden corners. Want something extra special? Try a horse carriage ride in Luxor or boat trip to a Nubian Village. One of our travelers Karem loved these personal touches they really help you connect with local life.
What unique ways can I get around during the tour?
There's nothing quite like floating down the Nile on a traditional Felucca at sunset - it's actually included in our 16-day private Egypt and Turkey tour. Over in Istanbul you can cruise the Bosphorus watching Europe and Asia meet right before your eyes with amazing views of palaces and old wooden mansions. Our 14-day small group tour includes this and honestly it's a highlight for most travelers.
How different are the cultures in Egypt and Turkey?
Egypt blends ancient Pharaonic history with Islamic traditions - you'll need to dress modestly especially at places like Karnak Temple in Luxor. Turkey's fascinating because it mixes Ottoman Byzantine and modern influences. While Istanbul feels pretty cosmopolitan you'll want to keep things conservative in rural areas particularly around places like the Mevlana Museum in Konya.
What about staying safe while exploring both countries?
Both places take tourist safety seriously but being smart about local customs makes everything smoother. In Egypt vendors can be pretty persistent - just stay friendly but firm when saying no. Turkey's generally quite relaxed but respect traditional values especially in conservative areas. Watch your belongings in busy spots like Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and if you're a solo female traveler consider joining organized tours particularly in Egypt - Karem mentioned feeling really comfortable with our small group setup.
