Reviews of Small Group tours to Montenegro
- Semi-Private Day Tour of Montenegro: Budva & Kotor from Tirana
Awesome tour! Stevi our guide was excellent!
- 8 Days Montenegro Sailing Tour
Last year, we went on the Sadri Usta 1 ship on a Montenegro gulet cruise trip. This was our first small cruise and was wonderful! The gulet was beautiful, the staff was fantastic, particularly the chef Nicola. The itinerary was gorgeous, daily swim stop and excellent food onboard. We enjoyed visiting mostly the Old town of Kotor and the lovely Perast. Choosing this kind of holiday is a fantastic way to see Montenegro out of crowds.

What our customers ask about Montenegro Small Group Tours
What unique experiences are available with small group tours in Montenegro?
Small group tours in Montenegro deliver hands-on experiences that larger groups can't access. Visitors join private tastings at family wineries in Trebinje and take small boat excursions on Lake Skadar. The format creates opportunities for personal connections such as dinner with local families in Tivat. Hotel Gradska in And regional meals for intimate groups. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The tour was perfect as our guide Borislav made sure we plan our day to make the most of both sunny and rainy days with flexibility you don't get in larger groups."
What makes a small group tour in Montenegro different from larger group tours?
Groups of 8-16 travelers allow for greater schedule flexibility and closer interaction with local culture. The smaller size means easy navigation through UNESCO sites like Kotor's Old Town where guides can give personal attention. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The small group size made it possible to stop at beautiful hidden beaches and coves that larger groups couldn't access." These tours include authentic food experiences from wine sampling at Tvrdos Monastery to dinner at local spots in Perast with Bay of Kotor views.
How does transportation differ with small group tours in Montenegro?
The tours use Mercedes-Benz vans or minibuses that can navigate Montenegro's narrow mountain passes and reach small coastal villages. Montours operates Mercedes Viano vehicles for groups up to 8 people perfect for accessing the winding road to Njegusi village or remote Ostrog Monastery. A TourRadar reviewer noted: "Having a smaller vehicle meant we could stop at beautiful viewpoints along the coast that bigger buses would miss."
What are the accommodation benefits of small group tours in Montenegro?
These tours can book rooms at select boutique properties like the 5-star Hotel Gradska in Cetinje or Hotel Bracera in Budva's old quarter where larger groups can't be accommodated. These smaller hotels offer personalized attention and local character. As stated by a TourRadar traveler: "It was a real pleasure to come back to my suite every afternoon in the 5-star hotel in Cetinje something that wouldn't be possible with a large tour group."
What are the dining advantages of small group tours in Montenegro?
Small tour groups can eat at local family restaurants in Kotor and traditional establishments in Perast that larger buses bypass. The experience includes special meals like home cooking in Cetinje and tastings at small wineries. A TourRadar reviewer noted: "Our guide took us to small local restaurants that larger groups couldn't access giving us a real taste of Montenegrin cuisine."
How do small group tours handle Montenegro's popular tourist sites differently?
The smaller size allows visits to major attractions like Kotor's Old Town and Budva's beaches during quiet periods avoiding peak crowds. Groups can reach lesser-known viewpoints and hidden locations that big tours miss. One TourRadar traveler commented: "We could explore Kotor's city walls early morning before the cruise ships arrived making the experience much more enjoyable."
