What people love about Jerusalem Tours
- Petra and Madaba 2-Day Tour from Jerusalem
This tour was a blast! On our first day we started in Jerusalem, crossed the border, which went smoothly, and then met our Jordanian guide Emad. Together with him went to the ancient city of Jerash, where Emad gave us an interesting tour through the ruins. Then we had lunch (great buffet!) and continued to Amman where we stopped at the citadel, a hill in the middle of the city, with an amazing view! Then we continued further down south to Petra. Our group was great so we had a fun drive down there. In the evening we arrived at a Bedouin camp close to Petra... and what can I say? It was breath-taking! I won't tell too much, as you just have to see this for yourself, but I think the camp was one of the coolest parts of this trip. The bedouins were super friendly and served us a great dinner and tea. We were all pretty knocked out then after this long day and went to bed, excited for the next day. Early in the morning, after taking a warm shower (yes, it's a pretty awesome Bedouin camp), we had breakfast and then hopped on our bus for a short drive to Petra. There Emad gave us an extensive tour of the whole area and we also wandered around a bit in smaller groups. Petra is a stunning place that you really have to see. It's definitely wort going there with a guide, otherwise you'll miss out so much. Emad is a really fun guy and we all enjoyed his company and knowledge a lot. In the early afternoon we got back to the bus, knocked out from the heat and speach-less after this great experience, and headed back to Jerusalem. It took us a bit longer to cross the border this time, but again everything was well organized and went smoothly. We were then picked up by our Israel driver who drove us back to Jerusalem. All in all it was one of the best travel experiences ever – great organization, a wonderful group, a good guide and stunning places. I'd definitely do it again :))
- Jewish Tour, 3 Days
Informative on the tour we enjoyed the guides. They were knowledgeable of the sites we visited and would recommend the company.
- Petra and Wadi Rum 3-Day Tour from Jerusalem
This was a great trip! 3D 2N in Jordan for the price we paid was great. We had a fantastic guide, Emad, who was well informed and encouraged questions of all kinds. our driver, Mahmoud was also a hoot and a great person to be around. Our accommodations were humble and it being december was cold, but the four blankets we were provided provided warmth for the night. The food was good. Tea abundant. and the friends were awesome. The only thing I would also say, is that some of the gift places/rest places we stopped at were VERY expensive and its better to buy at the smaller shops along the way.
What our customers ask about Jerusalem Tours & Trips
What are the most unique historical sites to visit in Jerusalem?
The Old City stands as Jerusalem's central historic attraction where ancient streets tell stories spanning millennia. Key sites include the Western Wall the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Temple Mount. The Byzantine Cardo reveals 1,700-year-old streets that transport visitors back in time. The city divides into four distinct quarters - Jewish Christian Muslim and Armenian each with its own character. The Grand Court Hotel near the Old City provides convenient access to these sites. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The tour guide's stories were so fascinating that I didn't want the tour to end."
What's the best time of year to visit Jerusalem?
Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) provide the most pleasant weather for exploring Jerusalem with temperatures ranging from 20-25°C. During spring the Mount of Olives and Garden of Gethsemane burst with seasonal blooms. Summer brings intense heat particularly in July and August when temperatures can reach 35°C. The David Citadel Hotel offers a cool retreat during warmer months. According to a TourRadar traveler: "We had really good time on this trip. Our guide Christine told us a lot of interesting things of places we've visited and showed wonderful spots."
Are there any must-try local foods in Jerusalem?
Jerusalem's food scene reflects its diverse cultural heritage. Local specialties include the creamy hummus at Abu Shukri in the Old City fresh falafel from Moshiko on Ben Yehuda Street and hearty shakshuka at Machane Yehuda Market. The American Colony Hotel restaurant serves refined versions of regional dishes. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The flavors at the Carmel Market and Machane Yehuda were incredible offering a true taste of Jerusalem's diverse food culture."
How many days should I spend in Jerusalem?
Plan for 3-4 days to see Jerusalem's essential sites. The Old City requires a full day while major museums like Yad Vashem and the Israel Museum need another. The Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem serves as a practical base for daily excursions. A TourRadar traveler confirms: "The 4-day itinerary was perfect allowing us to see everything from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to the Mount of Olives without feeling rushed."
