Guided treks through Khao Sok National Park reveal Thailand's diverse wildlife, including sun bears and exotic birds. The fascinating Lawa Cave houses the world's smallest bat (Khun Kitti), while ancient rainforest canoe trips offer unique perspectives. Night safaris showcase monkeys in their natural habitat.

Thailand Safari Tour Reviews
- Thailand – The Elephant Experience
We had the most amazing time on the Thailand Elephant Conservation tour. Our guides were fantastic and caring about our every need. The itinerary just gets better and better, starting with visiting beautiful Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai and eventually getting to spend time with the elephants at the elephant camp in the hills north of Chiang Mai. We also had some super fun days of whitewater rafting and zip lining. The whole trip was a great experience for our whole family and we have lifelong friends in Thailand!
- Thailand Trip For Lantern Festival
I went to Thailand with Globe Drifters in a couple of years ago, so this review is long overdue! The entire trip was nothing short of AMAZING. Even from before leaving home to go to Thailand, Jodie kept me very well-informed and was very happy to answer my thousands of questions! This plus the detailed notes she prepared about getting to the hotel from the Bangkok airport made me feel really well-prepared for the trip. On the trip, I loved everything, including the hotels which were some of the most unique I've seen! The Klong Toey market in Bangkok was a highlight and it felt very authentic unlike many of the more touristy markets that you can find there. Also, I absolutely loved the accommodation throughout the whole trip, especially the floating lake hotels in Khao Sok National Park and the tree house hotels outside of Chiang Mai. Probably the most memorable experience and the main reason I went on the trip was the Lantern Festival. Words can't even describe how awesome it was to see all the lanterns floating into the night sky. Plus, the celebrations in Chiang Mai during that time were crazy fun! The entire trip was very well-planned and Jodie was on the trip and she really made me feel like I was her friend rather than her customer. This was probably the only trip I've been on where I wasn't exhausted at the end and probably could have stayed longer if I didn't have to go back home for work! It was a perfect mix of planned activities and free time. Thanks to Jodie and Globe Drifters for the trip of a lifetime!
What our customers ask about Thailand Safari Tours
What are the best times of year to visit Thailand's national parks for wildlife viewing?
The dry season from November to April provides optimal wildlife viewing conditions in Thailand's national parks. At Khao Yai National Park visitors can spot hornbills gibbons and macaques during daytime walks. Night safaris bring out different species altogether. For those visiting Khao Sok TourRadar travelers point to dawn and dusk as prime times for animal sightings near the water. A reviewer noted "the jungle walk and seeing monkeys in the wild was fantastic." Places like Khao Sok River Lodge and Anurak Community Lodge serve as convenient bases for wildlife excursions.
What's the typical daily schedule like on a Thailand safari tour?
Days begin at first light around 5:30-6:00 AM with wildlife treks or river safaris. The schedule at places like Khao Sok National Park typically includes morning canoe trips hikes in the afternoon and night safaris after dark. One TourRadar traveler noted "the early morning jungle walks were incredible for wildlife spotting followed by afternoon kayaking and evening night safaris - each time of day offered something unique." Lodging tends to be at nature-focused properties like Anurak Community Lodge or Elephant Hills Tented Camp.
What type of accommodation can I expect on a Thailand safari tour?
Accommodations range from floating bungalows on Cheow Lan Lake to well-appointed tented camps in Khao Sok National Park. Properties like River Kwai Jungle Rafts and Elephant Hills Tented Camp let guests stay close to nature without giving up basic comforts. According to one TourRadar traveler "staying on the River Kwai was a definite highlight - the floating lodges were unique and watching wildlife from our private deck was amazing." The focus is on providing essential amenities while maintaining the natural setting.
Are the safari tours in Thailand suitable for families with children?
Safari tours particularly in Khao Sok National Park work well for families. Most tours accept children 7 and older offering activities like easy canoe rides wildlife watching and guided nature walks. A TourRadar participant shared "our kids loved the jungle experience especially spotting monkeys in the wild and swimming in the river at Khao Sok." Places like Elephant Hills Family Tented Camp and River Kwai Jungle Rafts cater well to families with appropriate facilities.
What's the best way to photograph wildlife during Thailand safari tours?
Wildlife photography in Thai national parks works best with both wide-angle and zoom lenses (300mm minimum). Locations like Elephant Hills Tented Camp and 500 Rai Floating Resort offer good spots for wildlife photography right from their grounds.
