Reviews of Western Europe Family Tours
- Glimpse of Europe (End Paris)
Although a short adventure Annerieke made sure we had made the best of it. Her experience, adaptability and sense of humour made this a great trip.
- London to Rome Highlights (10 Days)
It would be nice if Trafalgar would give more details prior to the tour and not leave people who is inexperienced in the dark. But as for sarah, she was amazing, knowledgeable, funny, there is so much that I have to say about sarah and all are good things. She is a true tour guide who not only knows her history but knows how to be kind and respectful of people’s needs especially when we had 2 disable passengers in our group
- European Traveller (10 Days)
It was perfect for our first trip to Europe. The travel leader was hilarious and set the stage early on to unite all the travelers. The coach was fun and comfortable. We were able to see a number of key sites in each of the cities. The amount of walking was doable and the entire trip was very organized. We had 3 people in a room and all the accommodations were good to great. We got a little tired of the breakfast buffets but with the limited time we had, it was an okay option. Two things I think could be improved are: 1) the box breakfast we got the first day of the tour was terrible and 2) we had a number of people on our coach who were physically challenged and you advertise this tour for up to 80 year olds. It might be better to stress the activity level.
What our customers ask about Western Europe Family Tours
What's the best time of year to take a family trip to Western Europe?
Summer (June-August) offers optimal conditions for family travel across Western Europe with moderate temperatures and full access to attractions. Northern European destinations like Norway and Sweden see comfortable temperatures of 20-25°C quite warm. Many families opt for May or September to avoid peak summer heat. Winter brings its own appeal especially in Finland where families can visit Santa's hometown of Rovaniemi. A TourRadar traveler shares: "We visited in July and had perfect weather for all our outdoor adventures - rafting hiking and beach time. The long summer days meant we could really maximize our sightseeing."
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions available in Western Europe?
Each country offers distinct experiences for families. Paris features child-focused tours of the Louvre and Versailles while Amsterdam combines canal rides with visits to the hands-on NEMO Science Museum. Germany's Neuschwanstein Castle lets children step into a real-life fairy tale setting. Italy delivers memorable experiences through pasta-making classes in Florence and gladiator training in Rome. A TourRadar traveler reports: "The adventures we went on as a family will be remembered forever! Rafting surfing hiking picnics...our guide David made everything run smoothly and shared fascinating knowledge about local sites history and gastronomy."
