What people love about Iceland Tours in February
- 8 Day Around Iceland Winter Minibus Tour
Amazing Tour with Troll Expeditions! Thales, our guide/driver was fabulous, he took us to many extra stops along the way. All the hotels were nice. Iceland was a dream come true, highly recommend Troll Expeditions.
- 3 Day Winter Package with Golden Circle, South Coast & Aurora
Loved the professional guide, comfortable buses and tours were well managed according to daylight times.
- 5 Days Land of Northern Lights
The itinerary was perfct for a short trip and the bus and guide were excellent. Bus was comfortable and guide was interactive and congenial with vast knowledge of Iceland. We did not see the Northern Lights due to cloud cover every night but we accepted that possibility before we departed for the trip. The Klettur Hotel in Reykjavik was great and in a super location close to shopping and sight seeing in the city. This is an upgrade hotel and worth the price. The upgrade hotel in Hella was the Stracta. This hotel was not worth the upgrade. The service was poor, the food was terrible and very limited selection. The standard hotel, Arhus Cabins, was described as "rustic" but all our group siad they were fine and 17 of the 19 people in our group stayed there, along with our guide, and that is the location the Northern Lights presentation was provided and where the group viewing was provided. This was about a 10-15 minute walk from the Stracta. If it were possible, we would stay with the upgrade in Reykjavik (Klettur) but not upgrade in Hella and stay with the rest of our group at the Cabins. Weather was challenging with strong north winds every day except our last day in Reykjavik and it rained/sleeted/snowed most days. Overall the trip was great but a few small changes would have made it better.

Visitors can explore the massive ice caves of Vatnajökull National Park watch for the northern lights near Vik and trek across Sólheimajökull glacier. The Katla Ice Cave tours are particularly accessible during the winter months. A TourRadar traveler noted "the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull was absolutely stunning in February with the blue ice at its most vibrant." The dark winter skies and limited daylight make February ideal for aurora spotting with exceptional viewing opportunities near Hotel Húsafell in West Iceland.

The contrast of warm geothermal waters against the winter cold makes February an ideal time to experience Iceland's hot springs. The Blue Lagoon and Secret Lagoon draw regular visitors while hotels like Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon provide convenient access to nearby thermal areas.
