A grand 14-day Chilean tour takes you through 7 cities. Marvel at UNESCO sites in Valparaiso, float above Atacama Desert by hot air balloon, and unwind in Puritama Hot Springs. Premium hotels complement visits from Santiago's Plaza de Armas to Puerto Varas's Llanquihue Lake.
- Days 1-2
Santiago & Maipo Valley
Begin your journey in Santiago with a city tour of La Moneda presidential palace and Plaza de Armas. Visit Concha y Toro vineyard to sample wines at Latin America's largest wine exporter. The following day goes to Maipo Valley where you can pick from horseback riding, hiking to waterfalls or rafting on the Maipo River. You'll spend the night at a mountain lodge with amazing views of the Andes.
- Days 3-7
San Pedro de Atacama Desert Experience
Fly to Calama in the morning and head to San Pedro de Atacama. Your five days here include: - A night trek through Salt Mountain Range under starlit skies - Sunrise hot air balloon ride over the desert (bring warm layers for chilly desert mornings) - An evening tour of Valle de la Luna's unique rock formations - A relaxing visit to Puritama Hot Springs (28-31°C) - Sandboarding on massive 200m dunes - Buggy rides through Salt Mountain Range - Swimming in Baltinache salt lagoons where high minerals make floating easy
- Days 8-9
Valparaiso & Wine Country
Return to Santiago then travel to Casablanca Valley for wine tasting and traditional Chilean lunch. Next stop is Valparaiso where you'll learn to make Chilean dishes like empanadas, ceviche and pisco sour at Mercado Cardonal. Spend the next day viewing the city's street art and visiting Pablo Neruda's La Sebastiana house.
- Days 10-14
Lakes District - Puerto Varas
Head south to Puerto Varas to explore Chile's Lakes District. See the Petrohué Waterfalls in Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park with Osorno Volcano as your backdrop. Take trips to nearby towns like Frutillar and Puerto Octay along Lake Llanquihue. These spots blend German and Chilean influences which you'll notice in the local food. Spend your final days enjoying the peaceful lakeside setting.
14 Days in Chile, incl. Santiago and Patagonia
A 14-day Chilean tour through 5 cities features 3 lunches and 3 dinners. Your route leads from Santiago's Plaza de Armas to Atacama's Valle de la Luna, with luxurious stays at Hotel Cumbres Vitacura and Adventure Domes Ecocamp in Torres del Paine.
- Days 1-3
Santiago & Wine Country
Arrive in Santiago in the afternoon to avoid rush hour traffic. Visit Cerro San Cristóbal for city views and explore Plaza de Armas. On Day 2, take a 1.5-hour trip to Maipo Valley and visit Cousiño Macul in the morning when it's cooler. Day 3, drive the coastal route to Valparaiso (90 minutes). Get there early to see the street art before the crowds arrive.
- Days 4-6
Atacama Desert
Take a 2.5-hour flight to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Visit Valle de la Luna at sunset to see the best colors. For the Tatio Geysers, pack layers. Temperatures start near freezing at dawn but get hot by mid-morning. Visit Laguna Chaxa for flamingo watching. A telephoto lens will help you get great shots.
- Days 7-8
Lake District
- Days 9-12
Patagonia
Take a 2-hour 10-minute flight to Punta Arenas to visit the Magdalena Island penguin colony. Check the weather before booking boat tours. The drive to Torres del Paine takes 5 hours. Take your time and stop for photos along the way. Stay at the Ecocamp for convenient hiking access. Bring good rain gear no matter when you visit. The weather in Patagonia changes quickly.
- Days 13-14
Santiago
14 Days in Chile, incl. Santiago and Patagonia
A comprehensive 14-day Chilean tour visits 7 destinations from Santiago to Punta Arenas. Includes 13 nights accommodation, 20 meals, featuring Petrohué waterfalls, Chiloé's palafitos, and 4 full days in Torres del Paine National Park with various activities.
- Days 1-2
Santiago
Begin your trip in Chile's capital and take some time to adjust to the altitude of 1,706 feet. Start with a morning city tour to Plaza de Armas at 9 AM before it gets busy. Book your stay in the Lastarria neighborhood to walk easily to main attractions. Try the Pisco Sour tasting after lunch since morning tastings can be too much if you're dealing with jet lag.
- Days 3-5
Lake District
Take a 2-hour flight to Puerto Varas. Book morning flights to avoid the common afternoon storms. Visit the Angelmó fish market in Puerto Montt between 7-9 AM when fresh catches arrive. At Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, make sure to wear good hiking shoes as the paths near Petrohué Falls are often wet and slippery. Take the Todos Los Santos Lake cruise in the morning for the best volcano views before clouds move in.
- Days 6-7
Chiloé Island
The ferry from Pargua to Chiloé takes 30 minutes and runs every 15 minutes. Bring motion sickness medication as the water can get rough. Visit Castro's palafitos when the tide is high for the best photos. Try the traditional Chilean feast called curanto at Mercado Yumbel, where they cook it underground the traditional way.
- Days 8-9
Punta Arenas
Flying south to Punta Arenas takes 2 hours. Morning flights are usually less bumpy. Bundle up for the Seno Otway penguin colony. The best time to see penguins is September through March, with December and January being peak months. As one visitor shared: "The morning penguins were much more active than afternoon visits. Pack binoculars - they get surprisingly close but good optics make a difference."
- Days 10-13
Torres del Paine
The drive from Punta Arenas takes 4 hours through remote areas. Download maps offline and pack snacks. Start the Base Torres hike by 7 AM to avoid strong afternoon winds. The weather changes quickly so bring layers and rain gear regardless of the forecast. Book mountain lodges at least 6 months ahead if visiting December through February.

What people love about 2 week Chile tours
- South American Landscapes - Argentina & Chile
My husband and I did the South American landscape tour, Argentina and Chile. It was Amazing!!!! The tour as is has a great itinerary but I had a few extra things I wanted to add. Wendy was able to add my excursions and arrange all the transportation. Everything was so well organized the rides and tours were always on time and always in contact with you. We loved our trip. Would definitely plan a trip with them again!!!
- Argentina & Chile : El Calafate, Torre Del Paine W/local flights
Excellent holiday! Very well organised - the team: Hannah, Lilly, Barbara, Wendy Penny, Sam- put a lot of effort into organising an excellent itinerary. Brilliant communication with the local teams on the ground, couple of minor hiccups out of their control (eg a local domestic flight cancelled with nothing till the next day), which they helped me deal with very efficiently and I felt very looked after throughout. Would happily use them again! Pro tips for future travellers: ignore the guide books, no one speaks English, get a good few Spanish sentences ready! Laundry - do at El calafate hotel - half the price of everywhere else! In puerto natales there is quite alot of street noise on the sea view room - I’m a good sleeper so it didn’t bother me at all but light sleepers might want a different room! Thanks very much team I will always be grateful!
- Cycling the Lake District of Chile & Argentina
The tour guides were fabulous. They paid close attention to our needs (individually and as a group). Appropriate (i.e. "non-nagging") encouragement was provided to those of us who were not perhaps as prepared as we should have been. Every detail of the logistics was seen to, many of them in ways about which we were not always aware. The bikes were in great knick, the transfer vans were always clean, and the boat transfers were quite wonderful. FABULOUS tour on the part of BikeWays! This is a comment/concern/complaint NOT about BikeWays, but about Exodus (or perhaps it was Tourradar). Because I needed to make connections for flights to the USA, I had to leave our last lodge earlier than the bulk of the group who had made flight arrangements through Tourradar/Exodus. I was told that, due to this, I would need to pay a VERY expensive taxi fare from the Lodge to Temuco Airport. I indicated in my correspondence with Tourradar that, should others need to take advantage of early departure from the National Park, I would be happy to split the taxi fare with them. Imagine my surprise during the 3-client taxi ride to the airport, to find that the other two (who may also comment on this inequity) in the taxi were not required to pay a penny extra. So... it appears that my extra supplement had paid for the THREE of us to make our way to the airport. Tourradar/Exodus would have needed to pay this fare for them had I NOT gone. Instead it appears that I was subsidizing your company/ies. I expect a full explanation for this situation. (And appropriate financial compensation would also be appropriate.)
