3 Day China Itinerary, incl. Beijing and Yangshuo
Beijing and Yangshuo blend urban and rural China with Yulong River cycling, Li River bamboo boat rides, and Mount Xianggong climbing. Two nights at 5-star Green Lotus Hotel, daily meals, and round-trip flights included for around $1,300.
- Day 1
Beijing to Yangshuo
Your Beijing adventure starts with a 7 AM hotel pickup for your flight to Guilin. It's best to pack light for easy transfers during your travels. After a 3-hour flight and 2-hour drive you'll reach Yangshuo. The afternoon includes biking along the Yulong River on well-maintained paths. In the evening visit West Street (Xi Jie) the main walking area where local dishes like beer fish and Guilin rice noodles are must-tries.
- Day 2
Yangshuo Exploration
Start the day with a peaceful bamboo raft ride on the Li River when morning mist still blankets the karst mountains. Next up is Mount Xianggong which offers stunning views of the Li River's horseshoe bend. Wear sturdy shoes for the climb since the steps can get slippery. One visitor shared: "The view from Mount Xianggong at sunrise was worth the early wake-up call. The morning light hitting the limestone peaks created the most magnificent photos."
- Day 3
Return to Beijing
Your final morning is perfect for exploring Yangshuo's local markets which are busiest before 9 AM. Plan your morning carefully since the transfer to Guilin airport takes about 2 hours. If you're visiting during rainy season (April-August) add some extra time for your transfer as rural roads can get slow.
3 Day Western Sichuan Itinerary, incl. Bipenggou Valley and Dagu Glacier
Chengdu's surroundings reveal Bipenggou Valley's pristine lakes and Dagu Glacier's world-highest cableway. Nights split between Guergou's hot springs hotel and YangRongHaDe Tibetan village before visiting Yingxiu's earthquake memorial.
- Day 1
Chengdu to Bipenggou Valley
Leave Chengdu around 7 AM to beat traffic on the 3.5-hour drive to Bipenggou Valley. Take the shuttle bus to the main viewing spots when you arrive. You'll need good walking shoes since trails can get slippery in wet weather. Set aside 4-5 hours to explore the pristine lakes and snow-capped peaks that give this area its nickname "Little Switzerland of Western Sichuan." In the evening head to Guergou Town for the night. Bring swimwear to enjoy your hotel's hot spring pools after your hike.
- Day 2
Dagu Glacier Adventure
Get ready for a 5-hour morning drive to Dagu Glacier. Pack both warm clothes and sun protection since mountain weather changes quickly. You'll ride the world's highest cable car at 4,860 meters. Consider taking altitude medication before the steep climb. Visit YangRongHaDe Tibetan village in the afternoon to see traditional prayer flags and architecture in this special "place that Immortals love." Stay overnight in a local guesthouse for an authentic Tibetan experience.
- Day 3
Earthquake Memorial and Return to Chengdu
3 Day Xi'an Itinerary, incl. Ancient City Wall and Terracotta Warriors
The ancient city of Xi'an unfolds over three days, from the legendary Terracotta Warriors to cycling atop the Ancient City Wall. Visitors craft pottery at cave dwellings, wander through Gao's Courtyard, and savor the Muslim Quarter's vibrant food scene. Nights end at a 4-star hotel.
- Day 1
Arrival in Xi'an
After landing at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (XIY), you'll need about 45-60 minutes to reach your city center hotel. Try to book a morning flight if possible since Xi'an's afternoon traffic can make the journey much longer. Take it easy on this first day to adjust to the time difference. A short walk near your hotel will help you get familiar with the area.
- Day 2
City Wall and Terracotta Warriors
Get to the Ancient City Wall by 8:30 AM before it gets too hot. You can rent a bike and ride the full 14km circuit, which takes about 2 hours. Just check the weather first since summer temperatures often hit 95°F/35°C by mid-morning. Next, take a one-hour drive east to the Terracotta Warriors site. Start with the pottery workshop while you still have energy, then visit the main archaeological site after lunch. Later, spend time exploring the Muslim Quarter's narrow streets. A recent visitor shared: "Go hungry to the Muslim Quarter - the lamb skewers and fresh pomegranate juice stands are incredible, but it gets really busy after 7 PM."
- Day 3
