  • Days 1-2

    Amman & Northern Jordan

    Start in Amman, Jordan's busy capital. Spend your first afternoon exploring Rainbow Street with its local restaurants and coffee shops. On day 2, take an early trip to Ajlun Fortress. Next, visit the Roman city of Jerash. Get there before 9 AM to avoid tour groups and hot weather. The ruins are extensive so pack good walking shoes and plenty of water.

    
  • Days 3-4

    Biblical Sites & Dead Sea

    Start early to visit the Desert Castles east of Amman before the heat sets in. Visit Madaba to see the famous 6th-century mosaic map in St. George's Church. Check out Mount Nebo in late afternoon when visibility is best over the Jordan Valley. Spend day 4 at the Dead Sea. Go for a float early morning or late afternoon to stay out of peak sun. Skip shaving for 24 hours before your visit as the salt water can sting.

    
  • Days 5-6

    Petra & Wadi Rum

    Give yourself a full day for Petra. Get to the Siq canyon right when it opens (6 AM summer, 7 AM winter) to see the Treasury without crowds. Bring hiking boots as the old stone steps can be slippery. Take a 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum in late afternoon when the red rocks look their best. Sleep in a Bedouin camp but pack warm clothes. Desert nights get cold.

    
  • Days 7-8

    Border Crossings & Sinai

    Budget 2-3 hours for border crossings between Jordan, Israel and Egypt. Bring cash for visa fees: Jordan exit $15, Israel exit $32, Egypt entry $45. The drive to St. Catherine's through Sinai takes about 4 hours. For the monastery visit, dress modestly. Women need to cover shoulders and knees.

    
  • Days 9-10

    Cairo Exploration

    Visit the Pyramids right at opening (8 AM) to beat tour buses and heat. Visit the Egyptian Museum in the afternoon when it's less crowded. One visitor shared: "The Coptic quarter in late afternoon was peaceful and atmospheric - a perfect escape from Cairo's intensity." Use your final morning to relax before heading to the airport, which takes 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Days 1-2

    Amman & Northern Jordan

    Start in Amman and use it as your base to explore northern Jordan. Visit the 12th-century Ajlun Fortress early on day 2 before it gets too hot. Head to Jerash's Roman ruins in the afternoon around 3 PM when the tour groups leave. The ruins cover a large area so wear good walking shoes and pack plenty of water.

    Desert Castles & Dead Sea

    Travel east to see the Desert Castles. Bring a flashlight to explore the frescoes at Qusayr Amra. Stop at Madaba to view the famous mosaic map before noon when the church lighting makes for better photos. Plan your Dead Sea visit for late afternoon to avoid intense sun. Remember water shoes since the salt crystals on the beach can be sharp.

    
  • Days 5-6

    Petra & Wadi Rum

    Get to Petra when it opens at 6 AM to avoid crowds and heat. You'll walk about 30 minutes through the Siq to reach the Treasury. A guide is worth booking for the morning before exploring on your own. Check if Petra by Night is running during your visit. Take a sunset camel ride at Wadi Rum. Nights get surprisingly cold in the desert so pack warm clothes for your camp stay. Wear good shoes if you plan to explore Khazali Canyon as you'll need to do some light climbing.

    
  • Days 7-8

    Aqaba & Transfer to Cairo

    South Beach in Aqaba offers great snorkeling spots. Book a morning flight to Cairo as these typically run on time. The drive from Aqaba to Amman airport takes about 4 hours on the desert highway.

    
  • Days 9-10

    Cairo Exploration

    Visit the Pyramids right when they open at 8 AM to beat the crowds. The Egyptian Museum is less busy after lunch. Explore the Coptic area and Hanging Church in late afternoon when the light is best for photos.

  • Days 1-2

    Aqaba, Jordan:

    Board your vessel in Jordan's only coastal city before 7 PM. Aqaba is a perfect starting point for trips to Petra and Wadi Rum - you might want to come a day early to see these sites. The Japanese Gardens reef offers excellent snorkeling with crystal-clear water. You'll need reef-safe sunscreen since regular sunscreen isn't allowed at most dive sites.

    
  • Day 3

    Eilat, Israel:

    A quick cruise takes you to Eilat. Check out the Underwater Observatory Marine Park to see Red Sea marine life without swimming. Visit Timna Park in the morning when it's cooler and the copper mine ruins look their best in the early light. Take extra water - it often gets above 100°F (38°C).

    
  • Day 4

    Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt:

    Sharm El-Sheikh is a premier diving destination, especially at Ras Mohammed National Park. If you're not an expert diver, get a guide for Shark Reef - the currents can be tricky. The Old Market comes alive in the evening when the heat drops.

    
  • Day 5

    Safaga, Egypt:

    This small port town features black sand beaches known for their healing properties. You can visit Luxor from here, but know it's a long 4-hour drive each way. While the port area is industrial the best snorkeling spots are just north of town.

    
  • Days 6-8

    (Including Sea Days):

    Mix port visits with relaxing days at sea. Stop at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia (Day 7) for excellent diving on less-visited reefs. The old town's coral buildings make great photos, especially right before sunset.

    
  • Days 9-10

    Hurghada to Ain Sokhna:

    Explore Hurghada's sea life and local markets. Book water activities for morning hours when the water is calmer. The cruise ends in Ain Sokhna - book your Cairo flight after 4 PM to allow time for transfer.
