  • Days 1-2

    Marrakech

    Start your journey in the Red City with an early morning bike ride through the Menara Gardens and Palmeraie oasis before it gets too hot. A recent visitor shared: "The morning ride through Marrakech's Medina was thrilling - just bring plenty of water and start early to beat both traffic and heat." Take the night train to Tangier.

    
  • Days 3-4

    Tangier & Chefchaouen

    Bike the Mediterranean coastline to the Caves of Hercules, including an uphill stretch to Cap Spartel lighthouse. The road to the Blue City is quite steep - you might want to use the support vehicle if you're not confident with climbs. In Chefchaouen's medina, wear good shoes as the cobblestones can be slippery.

    
  • Days 5-7

    Fes & Middle Atlas

    After biking through the Rif Mountains in the morning, spend two days in Fes. You'll need a guide for the medina since it has 9,000 narrow alleys that are easy to get lost in. When you head into the Middle Atlas Mountains, pack warm clothes if cycling in winter as it can get quite cold up there.

    
  • Days 8-9

    Desert Experience

    Plan for a full day of riding from Midelt split into two parts - first an easy downhill to Er-rich, then following the Ziz River. The afternoon drive to Merzouga goes through remote areas, so pack extra food and water. You'll sleep in a desert camp - basic but with amazing stars at night.

    Todra & Dades Gorges

    Start early for your ride through these impressive gorges. Be careful on the Dades Valley descent with its sharp turns. A cyclist told us: "The descent through Dades Gorge was exhilarating but required full concentration - the switchbacks are tight and the surface can be gravelly."

    
  • Days 12-13

    Ait Benhaddou & Atlas Mountains

    See the famous kasbah before taking on the tough climb up Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m). Leave early since afternoon winds can pick up. The ride back to Marrakech is exciting but watch out for cars.

  • Days 1-2

    Casablanca & Chefchaouen

"The intricate tilework inside the mosque is breathtaking, but women should bring a scarf to cover their heads." Take the 4-hour drive north to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains.     Ancient Fes & Roman Ruins

    Stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis on your way to Fes. The Fes medina is the world's largest car-free urban area, so getting a guide is smart. "Get to the tanneries before 10 AM when the smell is less intense and the light is perfect for photos." Plan for a relaxing hammam visit in the evening.

    Desert Adventure

    Your journey continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga and the Sahara. "Pack a small overnight bag for the desert camp—you can't bring your full luggage on the camels." The camel trek to camp takes about 90 minutes. Wear long pants and pack warm clothes for cold desert nights.

    Gorges & Kasbahs

    Visit Todra Gorge in early morning light to see shadows play on the 1000-foot limestone walls. Next up is Ait Benhaddou, where they filmed Game of Thrones and Gladiator. "The steep climb to the top of the kasbah is worth it for sunset views, but bring good walking shoes—the paths are uneven."

    Coastal Essaouira

    Watch the landscape change from mountains to coast on your way to Essaouira. This relaxed fishing town is perfect for long beach walks and fresh seafood. "Skip the tourist restaurants on the main square—the best grilled fish is at the small stalls near the port where locals eat."

    Magical Marrakech

    Give yourself two full days in Marrakech. Start at Djemaa el-Fna square before the crowds arrive. Get a guide for your first day to learn your way around. "The best time to explore the souks is after 4 PM when day-trippers leave and prices become more negotiable."

  • Days 1-2

    Casablanca & Rabat

    The 4-hour mountain drive to Chefchaouen offers great views from the right side of the car. Visit the blue medina early or late to avoid midday crowds.     Fes & Volubilis

    Stop at Volubilis Roman ruins on your way to Fes. Take water and sun protection since there's no shade. You'll need good shoes and patience for the Fes medina with its 9,000 lanes. Get a local guide for at least half a day. The tanneries smell strong in summer. Ask your guide for mint sprigs to help with the smell.

    Sahara Desert & Merzouga

    It's a 7-hour drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga. Consider motion sickness pills. Take your camel trek in late afternoon when it's cooler. Nights get cold in the desert camp so pack warm clothes. The camp has basic facilities, so bring just what you need in a small bag.

    Todra Gorge & Atlas Mountains

    Visit Todra Gorge early before the tour groups arrive. Book climbing trips ahead of time. The drive to Ait Benhaddou through the High Atlas often has road work, so plan extra time.

    Essaouira

    Plan about 6 hours for the coastal drive. The medina here feels more laid back than others. Go to the beach in the morning before strong winds pick up. Buy seafood at the port before noon for the best prices. Watch the sunset from the Portuguese ramparts.

    Marrakech

    Take the 3-hour Supratours bus from Essaouira. First-class seats are worth the upgrade. The Djemaa el-Fna square comes alive at night. Use Rue Semarine as your main path through the souks. Do your main shopping here where you'll find the most options.
