14 Day Morocco Cycling Itinerary, incl. Marrakech and Fes
A 157km cycling adventure connects 9 cities. Starting from Marrakesh's Menara Gardens, riders visit Chefchaouen's blue medina, ancient Fes, and camp in the Sahara near Merzouga, including stops at UNESCO site Ait Benhaddou and Todra Gorge.
- Days 1-2
Marrakech
Start your journey in the Red City with an early morning bike ride through the Menara Gardens and Palmeraie oasis before it gets too hot. A recent visitor shared: "The morning ride through Marrakech's Medina was thrilling - just bring plenty of water and start early to beat both traffic and heat." Take the night train to Tangier.
- Days 3-4
Tangier & Chefchaouen
Bike the Mediterranean coastline to the Caves of Hercules, including an uphill stretch to Cap Spartel lighthouse. The road to the Blue City is quite steep - you might want to use the support vehicle if you're not confident with climbs. In Chefchaouen's medina, wear good shoes as the cobblestones can be slippery.

Visit the blue-painted medina in late afternoon for the best photos.

Get to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca by 8 AM to beat the crowds and take great photos. Drive 3 hours to Rabat and stop for lunch in Mohammedia. 5 stars for this 2 week tour for many reasons. Hassan our guide and Mohamed our driver were the best possible. Safety was their number one concern and as a result we were relaxed the entire trip. Drivers must obey Moroccan law completely as the drive is recorded electronically and collected by traffic police every few days. The hotels were perfect, always clean and with private facilities. Some were fancy but most were the Riad/ Moroccan style which we enjoyed. The included meals were delicious and for the meals that were not included, very affordable restaurants were pointed out for us to use. The pace was as expected according to the itinerary, so we were on th3 go a lot but had a few 2 night stays and time for relaxing. Highly recommended tour. Nola and Salvador Lara
