9 Days in Switzerland, incl. Zurich and Geneva
Switzerland's cultural treasures unfold across 11 cities, from Zurich's Fraumünsterkirche to Lucerne's Chapel Bridge. The tour includes Gruyères Castle lunch, Maison Cailler chocolate factory, and Jungfraujoch mountain railway. Premium hotels with 4 dinners and daily breakfast included.
- Days 1-2
Zurich & Around
Start exploring Zurich's Altstadt (Old Town). Visit the Fraumünsterkirche with its Chagall windows in the early morning to avoid the crowds. "The guild houses and historic squares spanning both sides of the Limmat River create an amazing first impression of Switzerland." Take time to visit Biel/Bienne and Neuchâtel to discover their historical districts.
- Days 3-4
Geneva & French Influence
Walk through Geneva's Old Town and Reformation Park. The cobblestone streets tell stories of the past. Visit St. Peter's Cathedral early for the best experience. Take a trip to French-influenced Évian-les-Bains and the medieval Gruyères Castle. Stop at the Maison Cailler chocolate factory in Broc. "The double sweetness of crème and meringue at Gruyères Castle followed by Swiss chocolate tasting was unforgettable."
- Days 5-6
Alpine Adventures
Visit the glamorous resort town of Gstaad before going to Interlaken which sits between two lakes. Make your way to Grindelwald and take the journey to Jungfraujoch. "Take the early mountain train to the 'Top of Europe' - the viewing platforms get crowded by midday. The Ice Palace is spectacular but bring proper shoes as it can be slippery."
- Day 7
Bern & Lucerne
- Days 8-9
Lucerne & Departure
Cross Lucerne's Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), Europe's oldest covered wooden bridge and see the Lion Monument. "Visit the bridge early morning when the light is perfect for photos and before the crowds arrive." On your last day, head to Zurich Airport. Give yourself 90 minutes for the transfer due to morning traffic.
10 Day Switzerland & Italy Itinerary, incl. Zurich and Venice
An immersive Swiss adventure featuring 4 key destinations: Zurich (2 nights), Lucerne (3 nights), Mount Titlis glacier excursion, and Interlaken day trip. Includes breakfast daily and scenic train travel between locations.
- Days 1-2
Zurich
Start in Switzerland's largest city. The train from Zurich Airport reaches the city center in just 10 minutes. Spend your first afternoon walking along Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street. On day two, explore Old Town's cobblestone streets and take a tram to Uetliberg mountain for city views. Get a 24-hour ZurichCARD for unlimited public transport and museum access.
- Days 3-5
Lucerne Region
Take the 45-minute train to medieval Lucerne. See the Chapel Bridge early before crowds gather. Don't miss the Mount Titlis trip. The rotating Rotair gondola goes up 3,000 meters for glacier views. Bring warm clothes since it's much cooler at the top. Take a day trip to Interlaken to see the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. A recent visitor shared: "The train journey between Lucerne and Interlaken is worth it just for the lake views – try to sit on the right side heading out."
- Days 6-7
Lake Como
The trip from Lucerne to Como takes about 4 hours through beautiful mountain passes. Stay in Bellagio or Varenna for easy ferry access. Get your photos in early morning light before other tourists arrive. Visit Villa Carlotta right when it opens at 9 AM. Remember that many restaurants close between 3-7 PM.
- Days 8-9
Venice
The train from Como takes about 5 hours. Buy a vaporetto pass at the station right away. It costs much less than water taxis. Plan your gondola ride for early evening when crowds thin out and lighting is best. A past visitor noted: "Book accommodation on the main island of Venice proper – while Mestre is cheaper, you'll spend too much time and money commuting."
- Day 10
Departure
10 Day Switzerland Itinerary, incl. Zurich and Lugano
10-day Swiss journey covering 18 destinations from Zurich's historic quarters to Lugano's Mediterranean charm. Visit 72 waterfalls in Lauterbrunnen, UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyards, and Bellinzona's castles, while staying in 4-star accommodations throughout Switzerland.
- Day 1
Zurich
- Day 2
Zurich to Interlaken Region
- Day 3
Interlaken Region/Lauterbrunnen Valley
Visit Lauterbrunnen Valley's 72 waterfalls. See Trümmelbach Falls (CHF 16) and wear non-slip shoes. Consider the Jungfraujoch trip (3.5 hours, CHF 190). A visitor suggested: "Take the first train up to Jungfraujoch around 8 AM - you'll beat both the crowds and afternoon cloud cover that often rolls in."
- Days 4-5
Montreux Region
Drive through Bern's UNESCO old town to Gruyères. Visit the cheese factory in the morning to see production. Spend two nights in Montreux. Use Day 5 to explore the Swiss Riviera including Chaplin's World and Lavaux vineyards. If the steep vineyard walks look challenging, take the local train instead.
- Day 6
Geneva via Lausanne
- Days 7-9
Ticino Region/Lugano
Take a 4-hour scenic train to Italian-speaking Ticino. Stay in Lugano and explore Verzasca Valley and Bellinzona's UNESCO castles. A visitor advised: "The water in Valle Verzasca is crystal clear but freezing - bring water shoes if you plan to wade in. The Roman bridge at Lavertezzo gets very busy - visit early morning for best photos."
- Day 10
Return to Zurich
What people love about 10 day Switzerland tours
- Spectacular Switzerland
very nice tours , my wife and I enjoyed everything. nice places , good food , nice tour company , good tour guide.
- Switzerland All-in-one
We had a family group of six that did this tour in May 2024. Our guide, Vitalii, was fantastic. His formal education is in history and that was very apparent with his wealth of knowledge. The schedule for the tour was excellent and allowed us to experience a lot of sites in an efficient manner. Several times we were able to visit an attraction when very few people were there with the large tour buses showing up as we were leaving. I would definitely use this company for future tours
- Switzerland adventure in 9 days - (Zurich, St. Gallen/Appenzell, Interlaken and Lucerne)
Paris and Swiss in May is beautiful and even more bliss when you don't travel in group.
