21 Day Southeast Asia Itinerary, incl. Bangkok and Angkor Wat
This cultural odyssey through Thailand and Vietnam features Chiang Mai temples, overnight Ha Long Bay cruise, and Hoi An's ancient town. Package includes 20 breakfasts, 8 lunches, English-speaking guides, and domestic flights. Costs approx. $250 per day.
- Days 1-3
Bangkok & Chiang Mai
Plan your Bangkok airport transfer outside rush hour to avoid heavy traffic. Visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market before 8:30 AM to see it at its best and avoid crowds. "The floating market was fascinating, but bring small bills in Thai Baht for easier bargaining with vendors." Take the overnight train to Chiang Mai (14 hours) and get a lower berth for convenience.
- Days 4-5
Northern Thailand
- Days 6-8
Luang Prabang
The alms-giving ceremony starts around 5:30 AM. Dress appropriately and keep your distance from the monks. "Watching the monks collect alms at sunrise was humbling. Bring a shawl—it gets chilly in the morning." Take a boat to Pak Ou Caves but watch your step on wet days. Visit Kuang Si waterfall before 10 AM and bring water shoes if you want to swim.
- Days 9-11
Hanoi & Halong Bay
- Days 12-14
Central Vietnam
Start your Hoi An walking tours in the morning before it gets too hot. Try the Tra Que herb village bike tour. It's an easy ride but don't forget sunscreen and water. Visit My Son Sanctuary at sunrise to beat the crowds. "The cooking class in Hoi An was a highlight - ask to learn local specialties like Cao Lau noodles."
- Days 15-17
Southern Vietnam
- Days 18-21
Siem Reap & Angkor
21 Days in Southeast Asia, incl. Bangkok and Siem Reap
The 21-day route from Bangkok's Damnoen Saduak Market to Ha Long Bay's limestone islands showcases Thailand and Vietnam's finest spots. Travelers visit Chiang Mai's Wat Phra Singh, stop at Hoi An's Tra Que Village, and sail through Mekong Delta. Premium lodging includes Easterin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok.
- Days 1-4
Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok in the evening and check into your hotel. Your second day starts with an early trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market by long-tail speedboat through historic canals. Later, board an overnight train to Chiang Mai, which takes about 14 hours. Chiang Mai offers beautiful temples like Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. Visit Doi Suthep Temple at 5,300 feet elevation - go early to avoid crowds and heat. Be ready for 306 steps up to the temple, which can be tough in Thailand's humidity.
- Days 5-8
Laos
Fly to Luang Prabang. You can watch the alms-giving ceremony at 5:30 AM if you're an early riser. Remember to dress appropriately with covered shoulders. A recent visitor shared: "You'll want to arrive before sunrise to secure a quiet spot away from tourist crowds. The reverence of the moment is unforgettable." Visit the Royal Palace Museum (closed Tuesdays) and take a boat to Pak Ou Caves to see thousands of Buddha statues. At Kuang Si waterfall, wear good walking shoes since the paths get slippery. Swimming is possible in the top pool if conditions allow.
- Days 9-11

What people love about 3 week Thailand and Vietnam tours
- 21 Days Across Southeast Asia
My husband and I completed this trip 2 weeks ago. I have to say this is a well organised tour, we had a great time. All the guides and drivers were great, very professional and friendly. A few tips for future travellers, cash is best to avoid bank fees etc. We were safe the entire time, no issues whatsoever. Vietjet airline seems to shake down foreigners for extra weight by weighing your carry on and combining with the weight of your backpack. Travel as light as possible. Hotel de Bangkok is poor in my opinion, ask for an upgrade and pay the difference. Hoi An Express is a very efficient and prompt tour company, they respond by email and addresses anything concerns you may have. We also booked additional tours with them during our stay.
- Highlights of Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand 21 Days
Thanks for all the work you have done for us. We just come back home, take a seat and write this email to share with you our experience. I search for a local travel agency on google and click on your website. I find it really easy to book the tour and communicate with your staffs. The suggested itinerary is very convenient and suitable for us. Your tour guide is enthusiasm and lovely and the drives are always on time and very friendly. Especially, I have a strong impression on your prepared meals during the journey. The Indochina trip is more than our expectation. Once again, we would like to thank Bravo Indochina Tours team, I will definitely recommend you to my friends and other clients who want to experience authentic Indochina
- Cultural Capitals of Southeast Asia Tour 21-Day
My overall experience was fantastic. There are definitely a few things that would have been helpful along the way. Communication could have been a lot better. Informing me that I would be traveling alone instead of in a group would have helped prepare me. I spent the first few days frustrated and alone with no one to speak to or hang out with. Some guides were great about giving me suggestions, maps, etc to help me entertain myself in the evenings since I was new to the countries I visited. Others could have done better. Also, having my internal flight details would have been beneficial instead of having to ask in the heat of the moment when asked for it at the airport. Danny was great at organising so much. He was very responsive and helpful the whole way. My guide in Luang Prabang was amazing. Made my experience so much better with his attentiveness, flexibility, and arranging the itinerary to meet my needs, including the suggestion to include the train ride to Vientiane.... saving you all from the loss of my flight ticket. I honestly think you should add this into the itinerary instead of another flight. It was amazing and one of my highlights. All hotels were great. I enjoyed all the daily adventures and also really enjoyed the free time to explore on my own. Would be helpful to have some add on options... (ex. I would have loved to have seen an Opera performance but they were sold out. I was told to wait until I arrived so I missed out on the opportunity.)
