14 Day Vietnam Itinerary, incl. Hanoi and Phu Quoc Island
Rich cultural tour spans 9 Vietnamese destinations, from Hanoi's Temple of Literature to Phu Quoc's beaches. The itinerary features an overnight Halong Bay cruise, My Son Sanctuary tour, Cu Chi Tunnels visit, and Mekong Delta exploration.
- Days 1-2
Hanoi
Start your Vietnam journey in the capital city. "The small street-kitchens in Hanoi serve amazing local cuisine - don't miss trying pho from the vendors near Hoan Kiem Lake." Get to the Temple of Literature by 8:30 AM before the tour groups show up. Spend time exploring the winding streets of the Old Quarter. If you're there on a Monday when the Ethnology Museum is closed, check out the Women's Museum instead.
- Days 3-4
Halong Bay
- Days 4-6
Hoi An
Book a morning flight to Hoi An to avoid afternoon storms. The ancient town is quietest and most beautiful at dawn. Take a boat trip on the Thu Bon River to Kim Bong village where you can watch traditional woodworking. As one visitor noted, "Watching the skilled artisans craft traditional boats was a highlight." Visit My Son Sanctuary first thing to avoid crowds and heat.
- Days 7-9
Ho Chi Minh City
- Days 10-14
Phu Quoc Island
Finish your trip on this beautiful island. Look for beaches on the north shore. Long Beach is nice since it gets afternoon shade. Getting around is easier with Grab bikes since taxis cost a lot. The best weather is from November to March. Expect some afternoon rain during wet season. A previous guest suggests: "Book a snorkeling trip to the An Thoi islands - the water visibility is much better than near the main beaches."
14 Days in Vietnam, incl. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
A grand 14-day tour reaches 14 destinations across Vietnam. The route includes 3 UNESCO sites including Halong Bay and Hoi An Ancient Town. Travelers enjoy overnight cruises, village treks, imperial cities, and tunnel networks with expert English-speaking guides.
- Days 1-2
Hanoi & Surroundings
Start your journey in the capital's Old Quarter, where narrow lanes come alive with street food vendors and motorbikes. "Watching the monks collect alms at sunrise at Tran Quoc Pagoda was humbling. Bring a shawl—it gets chilly in the morning." Plan to arrive in the early afternoon to avoid rush hour traffic from the airport. The drive can take up to 90 minutes during busy times.
- Days 3-4
Sapa Region
Take the 6-hour morning bus from Hanoi to Sapa. You'll trek through terraced rice fields to Cat Cat Village and Ta Van, where H'mong and Tay minorities live. The paths can get slippery after rain, so good hiking shoes are essential. Each day includes 2-3 hours of moderate trekking. Head back to Hanoi on the evening of day 4.
- Days 5-6
Halong Bay
- Days 7-8
Hoi An
Take a 1.5-hour flight from Hanoi to Da Nang, followed by a 30-minute drive to Hoi An. The Ancient Town features beautiful yellow buildings and excellent tailors (give them at least 24 hours for custom clothes). Visit My Son Sanctuary early before the heat kicks in. Join a cooking class at the central market during its busy morning hours.
- Days 9-10
Hue
- Days 11-14
Southern Vietnam
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (2 hours). Start with the Cu Chi Tunnels before the tour buses arrive—it's a 90-minute drive each way. Take day trips to the Mekong Delta's My Tho and Ben Tre. A valuable tip from a frequent visitor: "The best floating markets are early morning only, so stay overnight in Can Tho if you want authentic photos."
14 Days in Vietnam, incl. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
A remarkable 14-day tour covers 7 destinations across Vietnam. Highlights include trekking Sapa's rice terraces, cruising Ha Long Bay on La Pandora Cruise, wandering UNESCO-listed Hoi An Ancient Town, and visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. Average rating of 4.8 from 60+ reviews.

What people love about 2 week Vietnam tours
- Vietnam Highlights and Phu Quoc Island - 14 Days
Just had a business trip to Vietnam and over the weekend, booked a tour through Indochina Legend. Were picked up at the front door promptly and from there on the day was brilliant. Did a days tour of the Viet Cong tunnels and then back for a tour of Chi Minh city. The tour guide was "Tin Tin" and the driver was "Tom Tom". Tin Tin was excellent in providing commentary and in depth answers to any questions we had, no matter what the subject. I'm nearly 60 years old and have been backpacking for almost 40 years. This is only the third or fourth review I have ever written in that time.
- Journey Through Vietnam 14-Day
All pick-up arrangements went smoothly. All the guides and other staff were very friendly and helpful (in particularly Ms. Bic, Mr. Zac, Mr. Happy from the Perla Dawn Cruise, and Mr. Trinh from the Trang An tour). The Trang An tour is really a full day tour and we didn't get back to Hanoi until nearly 8pm even though the itinerary said we would be back to Hanoi by 16:30. I have absolutely no complaint though as we visited quite a few places and the tour includes a few different activities to mix things up. Legend Travel Group also send their staff to meet me at the hotel on Day 1 to give advice on travelling in Vietnam and to confirm itinerary and pick-up arrangement, which is much appreciated.
- Best Of Vietnam In 14 Days
