What people love about touring Greece solo
- Greece Discovery Tour
Absolutely loved and enjoyed the 10 day Greece Discovery Tour with Fez travels. I usually like to travel off season (13-22 Oct'18), preferably in small groups (we were lucky 5), partially guided tours, slow pace, and somebody is taking care of my accommodation/transport from airport to hotels and port. All I wished for successfully granted by Fez travels. To start with, the pick up and drop off were all on time, I didn't have to worry at all. The drivers were very nice, helping out with your luggage and making sure you are comfortable. The hotels were 4+ star and to some extent very fancy ,breakfast included all days, dinners on some. On arrival, we sat down with our tour co-ordinator, she gave us our packets and all the useful information about Athens. The start of the days were by 9 am(perfect) except the day of ferry (leaves at 7.30 am from Athens to Santorini, takes 8 hrs). First day in Athens , we were done touring the highlights of the city and ending in Acropolis by 1.30 pm. This gave me ample time to explore the city on my own. The only museum covered with the tour guide was The Acropolis museum, rest you have to do on your own(which I prefer). Getting a metro card in Athens is super easy and trains are so fast. The next 2-3 days were with the guide, pretty much most of the time. The road trip included from Athens >Corinth canal >Epidaurus >Nafplion >Mycenae > Olympia > Nafpaktos >Delphi > Athens. Stopped at all these places to see highlights and archaeological sites. The guide was very knowledgeable and you don't feel rushed through the sites. They do a good job, make sure you give the guide and the driver a decent tip. Next I was off to Santorini by myself (tour ended for the other 4 in Athens). The ferry tickets were include in the package. There was no guide in Santorini. But the guy who picked me up from Santorini port, sat down with me , went over all the details, things to do, the island/boat tours, local buses, taxi info and important numbers to call if I needed anything. Trust me you don't need a guide in Santorini, its such a beautiful island, you would want to take it on your own pace. The best way to get around are local buses(on time). Back to Athens (Ferry from Santorini to Athens was 3.30 pm), hence arrived very late. I just stayed in the hotel for 4 hours cz the pick up for airport was 3 am(flight at 6 am). I wish I had my flight in late afternoon or evening the next day (I would have got more time to walk around in Athens or I guess I didn't want to leave ;)). Thank you Fez travels for making my Greece trip such a memorable one.
- Greek Island Hopping with Guided Tours - With 4* hotels Premium
From research and others I knew Greece would be very nice. I underestimated how nice. It should be considered a bucket list trip. The Island Hopping is the way to go to maximize the experience of Greece. We started in Athens and visited Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini. It was 12 day trip but more time could have been spent in Mykonos & Santorini. It would have been nice to add Crete but the trip would then need to be 15+ days. It was very nice to have all of the travel plans made for us. At each stop there was a driver and a tour representative waiting on us to ensure we got to the Hotel and what was planned for us. I would recommend Personal Guided Tours versus Group Tours for your excursions as you will get more information and I think a better experience. We are from the United States and I would have to say in most of Greece their 4-Star Hotels are not the same standard as we experience here in the States. Also, quality of the Air Conditioning (ability to get the room cool sub 74 degrees fahrenheit) is lacking. These were minor issues. We had an awesome time and I would highly recommend this trip and Travel Company.

Tour Radar had everything arranged right down to every detail. Their Travel consultant met us at our hotel in Athens to give us a complimentary gift plus tickets and ferry vouchers. She also gave us lots of useful travel advise. All transfers were arranged and the hotels amazing Would definitely go through Tour radar again
