      Lençóis Historic Center

Start your adventure in Lençóis, the welcoming gateway town to the national park. The airport transfer takes about 45 minutes. Plan to arrive before 2 PM to join the afternoon walking tour. The historic center showcases European-influenced architecture from the 19th-century diamond boom. Take time to explore Rua das Pedras (Stone Street) where colonial buildings now house local artisan shops. A quick tip: wear sturdy shoes since the colonial cobblestones get slippery in wet weather.

Visit in the morning for the best photo lighting of the clear waters. After enjoying a traditional Bahian lunch, take a 45-minute drive to Igatu, known as the 'City of Stones.' The village is built entirely from local stone and features interesting mining ruins. Visit the art gallery first since it usually closes at 4 PM.

Mosquito Waterfall & Serra das Paridas

Start with a moderate 1.5 km hike to Mosquito Waterfall, which stands 50 meters tall. Bring a dry bag for your camera because the spray at the base gets pretty intense. The morning hike takes about 3 hours round trip. Stop for lunch at a local farm before driving 40 minutes to Serra das Paridas to check out ancient rock art. If you plan to see the deeper cave paintings, pack a headlamp. Wear long pants on the trails to protect against thorny plants.
