3 Day Egypt Nile Cruise Itinerary, incl. Aswan and Luxor
A grand tour of the Nile Valley reveals Kom Ombo's dual temple, Edfu's Ptolemaic complex, and crosses Esna Lock. Egyptologists illuminate architectural details while sailing past ancient shorelines. Full board dining and comfortable berth cabin accommodation included.
- Day 1
Aswan to Kom Ombo
Your journey starts at 11:10 AM with hotel pickup in Aswan. You'll board the ship around 1 PM. Get there early to avoid the strongest sun of the day. "A great way to travel from Aswan to Luxor and see the Nile, though you only really get one day to see everything as we left in the night," one traveler notes. The afternoon cruise takes you past Nubian villages where daily life unfolds along the river. Remember to buy water before boarding since it's not included on most boats. You'll reach Kom Ombo around sunset to visit its distinctive double temple. Bring something warm to wear since temple visits can get cool in the evening.
- Day 2
Edfu to Luxor
You'll need to wake up at 5 AM for the Edfu Temple visit by horse and carriage. Some guests question this early start, but it helps you avoid crowds and intense heat. The temple is remarkable with its mix of Greek, Roman and Egyptian architecture. Back on the boat, you'll pass through the Esna Lock system, which takes 2-3 hours, before reaching Luxor around 5 PM. This is a good time to relax on deck and watch Egyptian countryside life go by. One guest noted: "The boat food was buffet style with a nice selection of dishes - though desserts could be better."
- Day 3
Luxor Departure
3 Days in Egypt, incl. Aswan and Luxor
Ancient wonders await on this three-day Nile Valley tour visiting Philae Temple, Abu Simbel, and Valley of the Kings. Two hotel nights, five meals, expert guides, and transportation between six major archaeological sites included.
- Day 1
Cairo to Aswan
Take an early morning flight from Cairo to Aswan (1.5 hours). Visit the Philae Temple complex on Agilkia Island. Go in early morning or late afternoon to stay cool. One traveler said: "The boat ride to Philae Temple was magical at sunset - the lighting made the hieroglyphics come alive on the walls." Visit the Aswan High Dam next but bring good sun protection since there's minimal shade. You'll get the best photos of Lake Nasser in the afternoon. Spend your evening at the bustling Aswan Souk. Pick a hotel near the Corniche for easy access to both the market and Nile views.
- Day 2
Abu Simbel and Transfer to Luxor
Wake up at 4:30 AM for Abu Simbel. Get breakfast from your hotel for the 3-hour desert drive. Get there early to avoid crowds and intense heat at the temples. Take photos before 10 AM when the light gets harsh and tour groups arrive. Return to Aswan and take the afternoon train to Luxor (3-4 hours). First-class seating is comfortable but bring your own food. Sit on the west side of the train for the best views of the Nile Valley.
- Day 3
Luxor's East and West Banks
Start your day with an optional hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. A recent visitor shared: "Seeing the sun rise over the Nile while floating above the ancient tombs was worth every early morning minute." Tour the West Bank early. The Valley of the Kings opens at 6 AM. Get there first since the tombs become hot and crowded later. Visit Hatshepsut's Temple and the Colossi of Memnon in the morning light for good photos. Take a break for lunch then spend your afternoon at the huge Karnak Temple complex. You'll need 2-3 hours here. Finish at Luxor Temple in the evening to see it lit up. Catch your flight back to Cairo after.

- From Aswan 3 Days 2 Nights Nile Cruise
We had a very pleasant time on our cruise. We think it's a fantastic way to travel around between the citiess. Easy and fun! The boat food was buffet style and a nice selection of dishes; the desserts could be much better however. The staff was extremely friendly as well on the boat. Our guide was fantastic and so wonderful about ideas and arrangements. We aren't 'cruise' people so 2 nights was perfect for us. This cruise has a massage therapist who was also very nice.
- 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS TRAVEL PACKAGE TO ASWAN & LUXOR FROM CAIRO BY FLIGHTS
My husband and I did the 3 day Nile cruise (from Aswan to Luxor) + 2 days in Cairo. This package EXCEEDED our expectations. From the first email I sent to Hany to inquire about the package, his communication was great, and throughout the trip he was available for any questions we had. The Nile cruise was perfect. The sites were amazing. Our tour guide Mostafa was everything we could have wanted in a tour guide...a perfect combo of information, interaction, and allowing us our free time when needed. Our accommodations (aka resort) in Cairo were nicer than what I was expecting. And our transportation was waiting for us each time we stepped out of the airport or out of our hotel. I honestly didn't really know what to expect from the package, but this was above and beyond anything I had hoped.
