- 10-Day Budget Luxury Masai Mara Kenya Safari - Affordable Wildlife Trip & Beach
We enjoyed the 9-days budget camping safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. Would book with Voyage Kenya Tanzania Safari again. Also with the Kenya safari tour operator, Voyage. Everyone thought it was one of the best safari tours they had undertaken. The weather was hot so would consider going in a different month. June/September is the best month to go on a safari in Africa.
- 5 Days Wildlife Adventure - Mombasa
the tour was wonderful !loved everything ! the lodges were beautiful ,staff was very helpful friendly, food for the most part was good ,we seen lots of animals !so happy i did this !
What our customers ask about Wildlife Tours & Trips in Kenya
When is the best time to go on a Wildlife safari in Kenya?
Kenya's prime wildlife viewing unfolds from July to October during the dry season which lines up with the Great Migration in the Masai Mara. This period allows visitors to spot large elephant herds at Amboseli National Park's waterholes with clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru show abundant wildlife activity with Lake Nakuru drawing notable flamingo populations. A TourRadar traveler notes: "We saw an abundance of wildlife and the timing was perfect to witness hundreds of flamingos flying to the lake."
What are the must-see wildlife highlights on a Kenya safari?
Kenya's national parks each offer distinct wildlife experiences. The Masai Mara presents the Big Five (lion leopard elephant rhino buffalo) and the Great Migration. Amboseli showcases elephant herds with Mount Kilimanjaro as their backdrop while Lake Nakuru houses rhinos and flamingos. Visitors can rest at well-positioned accommodations like Kibo Safari Luxury Camp in Amboseli or Mara Sopa Lodge in the Masai Mara. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The lodges were excellent the game drives provided us with lots of opportunities to see animals in the wild. We saw every wild animal I had hoped to see and more."
What types of accommodation can I expect on a Kenya Wildlife safari?
The accommodation spectrum in Kenya ranges from high-end lodges to permanent tented camps. Notable options include Amboseli Serena Lodge with Kilimanjaro views Lake Naivasha Country Club in its forest setting and Ashnil Mara Camp in the Masai Mara region. Standard amenities include en-suite rooms dining facilities and wildlife viewing areas. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "The variety of food and different accommodations added to our experience - from luxury tented camps to traditional safari lodges each offering unique perspectives of the wildlife."
How long should I plan for a Kenya Wildlife safari?
A thorough Kenya safari typically spans 7-14 days. Week-long trips focus on the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru while extended 11-14 day journeys add Amboseli Samburu and the Tsavo parks. Plan for 2-3 days in the Masai Mara and 2 days minimum in Amboseli for complete wildlife viewing. One TourRadar traveler reflects: "The 11-day tour gave us enough time to really explore each park and see different species - from elephants in Amboseli to lions in the Mara."
What wildlife can I expect to see in Kenya's national parks?
Kenya's parks house diverse wildlife populations. The Masai Mara features the Big Five plus cheetahs hippos and 470+ bird species. Amboseli specializes in elephant viewing while Lake Nakuru hosts both rhino species and flamingo flocks. Samburu Reserve presents unique species like Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe. A TourRadar traveler notes: "Was happily surprised at the number of lions leopards and cheetahs we saw. The inside of their wings is a deep pink that one never sees unless they are flying."
What makes Kenya's wildlife viewing unique compared to other African destinations?
Kenya stands out for its varied ecosystems and wildlife experiences. The Masai Mara-Serengeti system hosts Earth's largest wildlife migration. Amboseli offers distinctive elephant photography with Kilimanjaro backdrops. Lake Nakuru provides both rhino species and flamingo populations. Select lodges like The Ark in Aberdare enable nighttime wildlife viewing at lit waterholes. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Our driver and guide were very good at finding the animals and also very knowledgeable about the animals culture and people."
