Traian was a great guide, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful; it was especially appreciated that he gave us some space and free time to explore and experience places by ourselves. Highlights for us were: the home cooked lunch in Viscri and the traditional Romanian dinner in Voronet; Bran Castle; the drive through Bicaz gorge; the city of Brasov; and the painted monasteries of Bucovina. However, there were some challenges and so things you might consider looking at: the Europa Royale Hotel is opposite The Urbanlist venue which had very loud music playing until 2am the nights we were there which greatly disturbed our sleep; the general area around the hotel was frequented by strange looking men that made the area feel unsafe; we would have liked to stay 2 nights in Brasov to see more of the city; and there was some communication problem with our transfer to the airport on our last day which lead to a stressful situation for us.Show moreTrip date: April 2025- PLPuay Yee· December 25th, 2024The tour was well organised. Emil, our guide/ driver, was great, he imparted lots of information throughout the tour. All the hotels were very comfortable. We saw so many places and I enjoyed all the places we stayed. Marcel, our tour guide, was very diligent about finding out what we were most excited to see. As long as we all were agreeable, he was flexible to our wants and needs. There were four of us in the group and two of us were solo travelers. All of our wants and needs aligned well and I think everyone enjoyed the tour. We saw 4 bears, and lots of stray dogs that we stopped for and fed (Romanians take care of their strays). We had a great afternoon with a pottery maker— quite talented. We saw painted monasteries, walled forts, castles and churches. Our group as a whole asked Marcel to bypass some of the monasteries in favor of reaching the cities that we were overnighting at and this gave us some more leisurely time to wander the cities.we ate some great Romanian food. This was a great tour with a flexible guide who is diligent, responsible and fluent in English.
