  James (tour operator) was incredibly disorganized and condescending with his communications. He was unable to perform basic functions as use the correct name for a bus pass into a different country (Chile -> Argentina). His response was to just use the ticket and no one would check. Not very reassuring. Based on his responses during the trip and his response to previous reviews, I expect him to immediately gaslight me, much the way he did with our private communications, of which I'll happily share if anyone is interested. Happy travels (hopefully with any tour operator besides this one)!

  My husband and I pay US$6500 for this trip. Our 8 days " O" trekking turn out like this: day 1: settle down in hotel - no meal. day 2: Hiking in local Laguna Sofia from 12-4 pm, no meal, sandwich lunch only ( one piece of cheese and han); day 3: Skiing at closed by ski area from 10-4 pm, no meal, pizza lunch only day 4: 1 day excursion to Torres del Paines, no meal, sandwich lunch same as day 2 only; day 5: free day - No activities, no meal; day 6: free day - No activities, no meal. First: James and the company Unu Raymi Expeditions had fraudulent misrepresentation the tour. They posted a false, misleading summer itinerary enticing clients to purchase a tour that cannot deliver. When we show the tour guide the itinerary, immediately the tour guide told us that that is no 8 days O trek in winter, only 5 days W route. Second: The NP was closed for 2 days after we arrived cause of snowstorm. We understand this is out of their control, we accept any alternative activities like hiking or skiing locally. But the company had abusing their right not to abide the contract. They refused to provide all meals, and no activities arranged for two days because as they quote : they are over spending on our hotels ( $70 a night ). They don't want to pay for a tour guide and driver on our off days. Third: Unethical professional conduct - James threaten me to terminated the contract without refund halfway into the trip because I yelled to him to abide the contract. We didn't ask much, we just want our meal show in the contract. This is basic. ( Note: After I complained, we got our dinners in El Chalten ). Fourth: After we come back from El Chalten, the company place us in a claustrophobic hostel. No windows, for $50 a night. ( James think is a shame I cannot accommodate this nice hostel. And I am free to moved out but in our own expenses.) After staying one night, we booked ourselves to check in to another hotel. We paid a lot, but they provided cheap services. Obviously, James and the tour company Unu Raymi had place their personal profit over providing good customer service. James as a tour operator keep his percentage of profit, and pass the tour to a local travel agency, and the local travel agency looks for cheap hostels and tour guides based on a limited budget. That is the reason we receive a very dissatisfying service. James and his company Unu Raymi have totally ruin our dream Patagonia trip .

  James went above and beyond to ensure my client had an exceptional experience, including making adjustments to the itinerary during travel. This was a bucket list, once in a lifetime experience for my client and he was thrilled with the service he received. As a travel advisor, I have to say that communication before, during and after my clients trip was outstanding. They made it very enjoyable to do business with them.
