- Graham· October 24th, 2024We were thrilled to finally get to Tashkent and begin our Three Stans and Caucasus tour with East Site - unfortunately only a day or two in we were disappointed- there was a problem with visas so now three Stan’s became two - no Turkmenistan. But don’t worry we’re going to pad out your Uzbekistan experience with extra days so guess what - so much more of the same thing but now for two weeks- way too much time in Uzbekistan with a guide who was very challenging. Finally off to Azerbaijan - another country and another disappointment- the brochure promised a cruise on the Caspian Sea but no - the guide had to inform us that cruises had been running for about three months- again no news from East Site - I know the water levels were not their problem but they should have know and had other plans. I did email Julia about this but she told me I was harassing her so she wouldn’t be communicating with me directly- odd because if the correspondence was regarding payments to her, communication was very slick. The tour continued into Georgia and Armenia and we thoroughly enjoyed these countries. The guides in Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia were fantastic. The food overall was very monotonous- we should be able to choose what the locals eat rather than what tour operators think we want to eat.Show moreEast Site Inc commented on this reviewDear Graham, Thank you for this review. We appreciate you bringing up those topics. We're glad you enjoyed accommodations, guides and transportation which were provided on the tour, this is something totally on us. We've taken you to best restaurants... Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- CCharlotte· December 29th, 2020Highly recommended! It was an excellent tour to Central Asia! My husband Isaac Montes and I did 5 Stans and Caucasus tour in Oct'19. Our guide Guli was just like the sweetest lady I've ever known. She helped us buy an antique rug.Show moreTrip date: October 2019
- PPhoebeGray· October 27th, 2020Last November we booked a trip to Central Asia with East Site, scheduled to leave at the end of March 2020. But we cancelled that tour in February 2020 because of the pandemic. We asked East Site for a refund and they sent me and my boyfriend Paul Frey prepayment and deposit amounts back.Show moreTrip date: March 2020
- SSharonTaylor· October 19th, 2020Central Stans and Caucasus - April - 2019. It was delightful trip and it was an incredible experience we had with East Site! The trip was perfectly organized, the accommodations fantastic, good local meals! Hiking the Burana Tower ruins in Kyrgyzstan, crossing one of the biggest deserts in the world known as Garagum desert which means "black sand" in Turkmenistan, visiting Bukhara, Samarkand, Old Khiva in Uzbekistan and after all the Caucasus - you will be seizing the moment this trip.Show moreTrip date: April 2019
- GGraceHall· October 19th, 2020We did 5 Stans and Caucasus in May 2019 with East Site. Our tour guides (Gulya in Uzbekistan, Ilyas in Kazakstan, Elvin - the Caucasus portion) were extremely friendly and totally flexible throughout the whole trip.Show moreTrip date: May 2019
- KKarenGay· August 27th, 2020We took The Caucasus tour in September 2019. Our Caucasus guides were very accommodating, informative, and very mindful and encouraging of people's varying ages. We enjoyed our visit to local family to observe Georgian bread ‘Shoti’ baking in “Tone” and taste local cheese with freshly baked bread in Georgia.Show moreTrip date: September 2019
- CClaireWalker· August 27th, 2020We enjoyed every moment of our 5 Stans tour in July 2019. Our guide Alexander was emphatic about the need to hydrate and repeated the message many times over the tour days. We always had fresh bottled water every morning. The food was great, stargazing in Khiva - that is one of old cities of ancient Khorezm, the pearl of eastern middle age architecture was fabulous!Show moreTrip date: July 2019
- CCarolWalker· August 27th, 2020Amazing 5 Stans and Caucasus - 31 Days Tour that we did in May 2019 with an incredible group, an amazing tour guide named Gulya, who fit in the group as one of us! Couldn't recommend enough!Show moreTrip date: May 2019
- MMiaTapia· August 27th, 2020We’re glad we did the Stans and Caucasus 31 days tour, in September 2019 with East Site. Well-coordinated, 4* hotels, a great guide - it was much more like being with an old friend than being with a tour guide. If you like to travel, this tour is a must.Show moreTrip date: September 2019
- HHannahWoodward· August 14th, 2020We decided not to go for an organized tour and instead took a private East Site tour to Central Asia in May 2019. You can choose several different types of tour varying in length. It was an excellent trip!Show moreTrip date: May 2019
