Roxana· November 26th, 2024Overall impression: Nice hotel and the monuments are beautiful with a rich history, but the tour felt like a tourist trap in Agra. I could not feel I can communicate with the driver. I had to insist a lot to go Taj Mahal and Sikandra (another location in the itinerary - he finally took me there on the last day, but then without a tour guide). I did not felt I could enjoy the tour in Agra or get good insights about culture, rather I had to watch out not being scammed. Pros: - nice hotel in Agra (4 stars - this was another reason I booked this tour - I wanted to stay in a clean hotel with hot shower for my last few days in India) - safe driving and punctual driver - tour guides in Delhi and Fatehpur Sikri were nice people, good english, knowledgeble and offered to take photos of me (as I was travelling solo). Cons: - driver was not speaking English (besides being advertised as an english speaking driver in the tour description) and was very hard to communicate (considering I was most of the time alone with the driver). Even though I asked priorly on booking the tour that I want to visit Taj Mahal at sunrise and sunset and I was ensured the tour included the visit to Taj Mahal by the support team, this was a surprise for the driver and the tour assistant when they picked me up from the airport and I had to convince them to take me there on day 2 (as on Friday Taj Mahal is closed - I knew that but they did not). - the tour guide in Agra (Taj Mahal and Agra Fort) was a business man (he said he'd show me some 'museums' to see traditional art and jewelry making, which in fact were sellers who would lock me in a room alone with them and convince me to buy their very expensive craft even if I refused, and the tour guide would get his commission). The Taj Mahal was covered in smogg the morning I went, and both the tour guide and the driver were tricking me that it's just fogg (when in fact was hazardous pollution anounced in the local news). The tour guide was in a rush at Taj Mahal, I felt I have to sprint after him, but after that he had all the time to wait for his friend the seller who locked me in to sell me local art. If any seller wants to offer you tea, run (is not for free or courtesy, is all a selling manipulation tactic). At the end of the tour, he tried to trick me into giving him 2000 rupees, his usual rate per tour (when in fact the tour included the tour guides). I felt obliged to leave him a tip though I felt scammed (tips rates are indicated in the tour description and I wanted to feel safe to finish the rest of the tour with the driver).Show more
