My friend and I had a brilliant time and the trip was very enjoyable. The standard of accommodation, food and also the bus were top notch. The two guide and the drivers all did a great job and tried very hard to accommodate everyone's wishes. The cultural experiences included in the trip were both interesting and gave a real flavour of Thailand off the beaten track. The bicycles provided were however a problem and several clients felt their bike gave a very uncomfortable ride. I will indicate my specific problems at the end and would like this to be addressed. I actually feel a refund of the bike hire fee would be appropriate. The cycling lengths were in keeping with the brochure but for the terrain rather short so the time spent cycling was rather short. The pace of cycling for such a short distances was fast about 25km per hour. This was partly as a result of a couple of clients racing past the leader. It meant that if one was not with the group or in sight of it or at the back with the other guide it was difficult to know where the group had gone at junctions as until I indicated this was a problem there was not anyone at turn offs. Once this had been identified I am pleased to say care was taken to ensure a van was at relevant junctions. BIKE ISUES. THE BIKE I WAS ASSIGNED WAS A 15INCH I HAD SPECIFIED MY HEIGHT AS 5FT 5INCHES. i HAVE DONE OVER 30 CYCLING TRIPS WITH GROUPS AND ALWAYS BEEN ASSIGNED A 17.5 INCH BIKE. THERE WAS NO WAY OF ADJUSTING THE HANDLEBARS SUCH THAT I FELT I WAS UNABLE TO RIDE THE BIKE. AFTER INDICATING THE BIKE WAS TOO SMALL FOR ME THE GUIDE INDICATED HE WOULD SWAP WITH ME. HIS BIKE WAS A MALE 20 INCH BIKE. WITH SOME ADJUSTMENT IT WAS RIDE ABLE BUT NOT IDEAL AND DIFFICULT TO GET ON AS THE CROSSBAR WAS HIGH. THERE WERE NO SPARE BIKES OF ANY KIND SO NO OPTION BUT TO ACCEPT. MY FRIEND WHO IS SHORTER THAN ME ALSO FOUND THE LACK OF ADJUSTMENTS ON HER BIKE VERY DIFFICULT SUCH THAT SHE HAD PAINFUL SHOULDERS THE WHOLE OF THE TRIP AND NUMB HANDS. THERE WAS ALSO NO FRONT SUSPENSION ON THE BIKES WHICH i HAD THOUGHT WAS PROMISED BUT MAY BE MISTAKEN. THE ISSUE OF UNSATISFACTORY HIRE BIKE FOR A BIKING HOLIDAY IS A BIG ISSUE SO I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF THIS COULD BE TAKEN UP WITH THE COMPANY SO FUTURE CLIENTS HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE. i ALSO THINK IT APPROPRIATE THAT THE BIKE HIRE FEE BE REFUNDED. i WOULD APPRECIATE A RESPONSE TO MY MESSAGE. THANK YOU ANGELA MILNE

Loved the trek and this cuiltural experioence. We didn't see any other tourists when we were trekking, nor staying in the villages we stayed in. Our guide was great, and I loved how they spread our dollars across the villages we went to, employing a guide, and getting food from various sources so that the whole village benefitted. The accomodation was primitive, but comfy and it was wonderful to be so close to village life. The only concern I had was that I trekked in April, not realising how this was the hottest month, and so found the heat taxing on the longest trek day. Definitely recommended.
