3 Days in Nepal Safari, incl. Kathmandu and Chitwan National Park
Wildlife and culture merge over three days: arrival with village tours, full day of jungle experiences, and morning bird watching before departure. Maximum wildlife viewing opportunities.
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Chitwan (5-6 hours)
Leave Kathmandu by 7 AM to avoid traffic. The tourist bus takes about 5-6 hours on mountain roads before reaching the Terai lowlands. If you get motion sickness bring medication. You'll arrive at your lodge around 2 PM and visit a traditional Tharu village. One traveler shared: "The evening cultural dance was a highlight - the local villagers really get you involved in the performance!" Remember to pack mosquito repellent for evening activities.
- Day 2
Full Day Safari Activities
Start with a peaceful morning canoe ride on the Rapti River to spot rare gharial crocodiles and birds. Quick-dry clothing is best for the morning dew. Your afternoon jeep safari gives you the best chance to see one-horned rhinoceros and possibly Bengal tigers. Stay quiet and keep your camera ready. Visit the elephant breeding center later when baby elephants are most active. Long sleeves and pants will protect you from sun and insects.
- Day 3
Morning Activities and Return to Kathmandu
Chitwan National Park
Wildlife thrives throughout this 3-day Chitwan sanctuary visit spanning 932 sq km. Elephant safaris, canoe rides, and jungle walks reveal natural wonders. The Elephant Breeding Centre and cultural performances enhance the experience. Includes 2 nights' accommodation and all meals.

What people love about 3 Day Chitwan National Park Tours
- 03 days Chitwan Jungle Safari
The accommodation facilities were very good and the staff in general very attentive. The guide had an excellent knowledge of the Tharu village, the local culture as well as the wild life. What I liked above all was that he was able to provide much needed advice on decisions regarding the tour itself and that made it feel very personalized. I am also immensely happy with the welcoming nature of everything one I came across!
- Chitwan Jungle Safari
It was very hot but that’s nit your fault. Our guide seemed irritated if we asked question that he felt he had answered. The jungle tour was great
- Chitwan National Park
We started the tour of the country with a safari in the Bardia National Park and were accompanied by Ganga as our guide on the safari. The forests were quite beautiful and rich in natural beauty, and I really enjoyed my time at the park. I love the fact that the park officials and the people are making such huge efforts for the conservation of forests and its animals. I love to hear news of animals not being extinct anymore or of animals getting off the list of endangered list, and I admire the work that has been put into the National Parks. I really liked my guide, Mr. Tamang, as well, because he was amazing on the trek, and on the tour of the national park. He helped with the long journey from Kathmandu to Bardia and had valuable insights provided at each interesting turn of event that happened in the journey. He was very helpful and useful for the trek because obviously, he is a professional and he knew what he was doing, and because of this, we felt safe and felt like we could trust Mr. Tamang. He is a very nice and professional person, and made sure that all of the work that was needed for the trek was done properly and excellently, so as a result, we did not have to worry about anything. Nepal Hiking Team is a wonderful agency which provided this opportunity to me, for exploring the wonderful national park and experiencing all the wonders that it had to present me with. Would definitely recommend anyone to go with Nepal Hiking Team and Mr. Ganga Tamang for any of the treks that you are planning to take!
