- Day 1
Maun to Delta Camp
Start with a one-hour 4WD ride from Maun to the mokoro station. Pack light but bring essentials: a wide-brimmed hat, strong sunscreen, and quick-dry clothes since you won't find much shade on the water. A local poler will guide your canoe through narrow channels while you watch for wildlife from just above the waterline. In the afternoon, take your first guided walk on a remote Delta island to learn about animal tracks and the local ecosystem. You'll sleep in comfortable 2.4m dome tents with proper bedding, which feels great after an active day.
- Day 2
Deep Delta Exploration
Start early when wildlife is most active. The Delta really comes to life at dawn. After breakfast, you can choose between more time on the water or another guided walk. In the afternoon, you can swim in a safe part of the Delta (your guide will check for crocodiles first) and try steering a mokoro with a traditional ngashi pole if you'd like. Remember to put on insect repellent at dusk when mosquitoes come out. At night, gather around the campfire under incredibly clear stars to hear local stories and watch traditional dances.
- Day 3
Return to Maun
3 Days in Okavango Delta, incl. Maun and Moremi Game Reserve
The three-day Delta adventure unfolds with morning and afternoon activities along waterways and islands. Daily schedules include two guided excursions, offering prime wildlife viewing opportunities from varied vantage points.
- Day 1
Maun to Inner Delta
Your journey begins at 7:30 AM from Maun with a 4x4 transfer through the dusty roads into the delta region. Pack light quick-dry clothing and don't forget binoculars. The delta's birdlife is incredible even from the vehicle. The drive usually takes 2-3 hours depending on the season and road conditions. At the water's edge you'll meet your local poler who will guide your mokoro journey. These traditional dugout canoes are very stable but it's smart to keep electronics in a dry bag.
- Day 2
Deep Delta Exploration
Get up early to the sounds of the bush. Wildlife viewing is best before 9 AM when temperatures are cooler. Your day includes mokoro rides through papyrus channels and guided walks on the islands. For walks wear closed shoes with good grip since morning dew makes paths slippery. There are no fences or permanent structures here which gives you a real bush experience. Your camp in the NG32 concession puts you in a perfect spot to see elephants and hippos.
- Day 3
Final Safari Activities and Return to Maun
Start with a final morning activity (mokoro ride or game drive based on water levels) before heading back to Maun. You'll arrive before sunset. The water levels determine your activities. High water means more water-based experiences while dry periods allow for more game drives. The delta ecosystem requires this kind of flexibility.
3 Days in Okavango Delta, incl. Maun and Moremi Game Reserve
This intimate Delta retreat spans three days with two nights in mobile tented camps, featuring daily mokoro rides and guided walks. The schedule balances multiple guided activities with time for meals and relaxation.
- Day 1
Maun to Okavango Delta
Begin your adventure in Maun, the safari gateway to Botswana. Pack light and bring quick-dry clothes for mokoro activities. The drive to your tented camp takes 3-4 hours depending on water levels. You might switch to a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) for the final stretch if water levels allow. Remember to keep your camera in a waterproof bag during water transfers. You'll stay in a mobile tented camp with en-suite facilities. The walk-in tents include proper beds and private bucket showers, offering more comfort than basic camping. Spend your afternoon on a relaxing mokoro trail or guided walk. Watch for red lechwe antelope that have adapted perfectly to life in the delta waters.
- Day 2
Deep Delta Exploration
Start your day at 5:30 AM when wildlife is most active. Morning walking safaris give you the best chance to spot elephants at their drinking spots. Your guides know how to read animal tracks with incredible skill. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and listen carefully to their guidance. Head back to camp for a filling breakfast before taking a longer mokoro trip through the waterways. The shallow delta channels are ideal for viewing hippos and crocodiles. According to local guides, afternoon trips are best for bird watching. Listen for the distinctive call of the African Fish Eagle.
- Day 3
Final Morning and Return to Maun
