  The Marangu Route is ideal for those who prefer a shorter trek with comfortable accommodations. Staying in huts was a bonus, especially during cold nights at higher altitudes. The route itself was beautiful, with lush forests and alpine meadows leading to the summit. Although summit night was a challenge, our guides kept us motivated, and reaching Uhuru Peak was an incredible experience.

  I chose the Marangu Route because I liked the idea of staying in huts instead of tents, and it did not disappoint! The huts were comfortable, and I enjoyed meeting other trekkers in the communal dining areas. This route is sometimes labeled as “easier,” but don’t be fooled—the rapid ascent makes acclimatization more challenging. However, the beautiful rainforest, stunning alpine zones, and the final push to the summit made the entire journey worthwhile.
