View in EnglishThe itinerary and the desert experience were excellent and I highly recommend them. However, the same can't be said for the organization, the driver, the first hotel we stayed in and the overall experience of the trip - which fell far short of what was promised. Having bought the luxury tent package for the desert (for a very high extra cost), I have nothing to criticize about that part. On the other hand, the first hotel we stayed in - apart from not being either of the two mentioned in the guide - had conditions far below the 4 stars advertised. It was a cheap 3-star guesthouse (which didn't even deserve it) with rooms that smelled bad, were very dusty and lacked comfort and convenience. The food at dinner and breakfast were the only positive experiences there. The van we were traveling in also didn't meet the advertised requirements - it didn't have air conditioning and it looked old and had some parts out of place (there were even several warning lights on the driver's control panel, which doesn't bode well). Another criticism is that, in general, there was little or NO information given before or during the activities. We were just dropped off, driven by a driver who spoke little English or French, and there was no way of clearly communicating problems, doubts or requests. At the end of each day, the group was split up and divided into different sleeping places without being given any complete information about what was to follow. There was no information about which stops we were going to make or in which places. We were given a short time (about 10 minutes) in one of the main cities we passed through - which even had a museum to visit - but then we would spend 20 to 30 minutes standing around in completely isolated cafés without any kind of activity to do.Show moreBlack Camel Tours e.
