This was an amazing experience! Junior was our guide and he made it his goal to keeping us safe and at the same time informed about the jungle. He is very knowledgeable about both the ecological aspect of the jungle and the anthropological aspect as well, as he grew up in a small Amazon village himself. Every time we went on a hike or were on a boat ride he was searching for wildlife to point out to us. We were able to see gray dolphins, pink dolphins, frogs, snakes, a tarantula, plenty of different birds, a sloth bear, many different types of monkeys. My favorite part was monkey island. Little woolly monkeys would just grab your hands and climb on you! They are not aggressive at all, they mostly seem to want to catch a ride or use you to get to tree limbs. One of the monkeys must have polled my camera from my pocket by its strap. I did not realize that it was gone until the following day. Junior made calls to the island and my camera had indeed been found on the trails in the island. Junior coordinated for my camera to be delivered to the tour office in Iquitos. I was very grateful for this as I had over one months worth of photos in that camera. The lodge is rustic. There is only electricity for 3 to 4 hours a day provided by a generator. There is no AC. The rooms are well netted, but if a mosquito makes it in while the door is opened, then you will be its meal every day, so wear repellent in your room as well. The water is filtered from the Amazon itself. For the above reasons it wasn't the most comfortable lodge... But what can be expected in the middle of the Amazon? To me this was part of the whole experience. Also, the lodge staff was great. The age range of guests at the lodge that we noticed during our 3 day stay was from around 7 to high 60's. I highly recommend Amazon Experience for those who don't mind being a bit uncomfortable with accomodations in return for an experience of a lifetime.

This tour was amzing! Dimas and his partner were excellent. They were always on time and never late. Very informative and eager to assist us in anything we needed. One of the two very best tour guides I have ever been on and I’ve Ben in many tours! Looking forward to going back someday.

Very good experience, it was my first time in the jungle and it fulfilled the expectations 100%. We were able to meet different animals, swim in the river, see different species of plants, share with local communities. The guides were prepared and knowledgeable about the place, I took away a pleasant experience of the trip.
