Unfortunately the Egypt guide was the polar opposite and had us standing in full sun for an hour while he prattled on. The ferry from Jordan to Egypt was 9 hrs overdue and as your on your own you have no idea whats happening, this was frightening. Show moreTrip date: May 2023- MUHAMMAD· March 11th, 2019Cannot arrange for this type of trip on my own. I am glad we joined the tour and saw and experienced so many different places. For this is a great value. Hope folks will not take following two points as criticism but opportunity to improve .... 1) We spent 8 hrs to reach Cairo and early next morning has another 3 hr drive to reach Alexandria ... does not make sense. There are few other places where trip planner can do a better job of time management. 2) Felucca had only about 35 - 40 inch of clearance. It took few days for my back to recover ... This may be more for me but I had difficult time crossing Egypt ... I was suspected to be somebody else whose first name was spelled differently and had different last name. Either folks in that crossing were grossly incompetent or they did not Americans ... If I had known all these issues I will still take the trip. Didn't like the Nubian homestay at all, I mean sleeping on a porch, basically outside, with only 1 bathroom, pretty primitive. The mini buses and drivers were ok. The tour guides were outstanding.
