  • Day 1

    Maun to Delta Interior

    Your journey starts with a 4x4 ride from Maun to the mokoro station, taking about an hour. Pack light in soft bags since hard suitcases don't work well in mokoros. A local guide will pole you through narrow water channels in a traditional dugout canoe. Keep your eyes open for hippos, elephants and lots of birds along the way. In the afternoon you'll go on a guided walking safari before camping on a remote delta island. Just remember there are no permanent facilities out here. You'll need a headlamp and quick-dry clothes since it gets damp in the evenings.

    
  • Day 2

    Deep Delta Exploration

    Get up early for a morning walk when animals are most active. The guides know the best spots to find antelope grazing and big cats coming back from their night hunts. After breakfast try poling your own mokoro if you're feeling adventurous. It's trickier than it looks! You can also take a swim in designated safe areas. The water is clean and refreshingly clear. Later, go on another game walk and spend the evening under incredible starlit skies. The delta's darkness makes for amazing views of the Milky Way.

    Return to Civilization

    Wake up early to catch the sunrise. The morning mist over the delta creates perfect photo moments. The trip back takes a relaxed pace through new channels, giving you more chances to spot wildlife. You'll be back at the boat station before lunch with plenty of time for afternoon flights from Maun.

  • Day 1

    Maun to Boteti River

    A quick 20-minute transfer from Maun Airport takes you to your tented lodge on the Boteti River. One guest shared, "The Boteti Lodge accommodations were wonderful, as well as the meals provided." Get settled in by early afternoon so you can join the scenic drive to Xobe Village where you'll watch traditional dance performances and meet local craftspeople. Your day ends with dinner under a star-filled African sky in the lodge's open-air boma.

    Full-Day Safari Experience

    You can pick between two different safari options: Option 1: Okavango Delta Mokoro Safari Your day starts at sunrise with coffee and fresh-baked biscuits. Local Bayei guides (known as "people of the Delta") will take you out in traditional dugout canoes called mokoros through the reed channels. They'll share their deep knowledge of the area while you stop at various islands for bush walks and enjoy a packed lunch. It's perfect for seeing wildlife up close and spotting birds. Option 2: Moremi/Khwai Game Drive A helpful tip from past visitors: "The ride to Moremi Game Reserve is over 3 hours each way with half on unpaved bumpy roads. Dress warmly for morning drives - even with the sides down the vehicle can get quite cold." This full-day trip runs from 6 AM to 4 PM. You might spot the Big Five and even rare African wild dogs. Your ranger stays in radio contact with other guides to find the best wildlife viewing spots.

    
  • Day 3

    Final Morning and Departure

    Take your time over breakfast while enjoying your last views of the Boteti River. You can add a helicopter flight over the Delta or a 2-hour mokoro ride for an extra cost before you leave. Book afternoon flights from Maun if you can to fit in these morning activities.

  Chobe National Park's wildlife takes center stage during 3 days of strategic morning game drives and afternoon river safaris.   • Day 1

    Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park

    Leave Victoria Falls at 7:30 AM to reach Chobe by 9 AM. The transfer takes about 90 minutes including the border crossing. Keep your documents handy to speed up the border process. One visitor shared: "Everyone was kind clean and a pleasure to interact with." Start your day with a 3-hour boat cruise on the Chobe River where you'll likely spot hippos crocodiles and elephants at the water's edge. After a buffet lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge take a 2.5-hour afternoon game drive. Pack both sunscreen and warm layers since mornings are cool but afternoons get quite hot.

    Full Day in Chobe

    Start early with a 6 AM game drive when predators like lions and leopards are most active. You'll return around 9 AM for breakfast at the lodge. The middle of the day is left open since animals rest during peak heat. You can relax at the lodge or watch wildlife from the viewing areas. End your day with a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Bring cash for drinks and your camera to catch some beautiful golden hour shots. Keep in mind that Kwalape Safari Lodge is outside the park so factor in travel time to activities.

    Final Game Drive and Departure

    Take one last game drive before breakfast on your final morning. If you're flying out it's a 30-minute drive to Kasane Airport or 90 minutes back to Victoria Falls. Book afternoon flights to avoid rushing your morning activity. The early starts are worth it to see Chobe's famous elephant population (over 50,000) in the best morning light.
