Karla· September 30th, 2024The overall organization was excellent and seamless as was the guide. Our original itinerary was side blinded because of the shutdown of Jasper, so our hotel accommodations for two nights ended up being at a casino somewhere in the plains of Alberta- pretty far from any city center. There were endeavors so keep us entertained although the location for those two nights was less than ideal although the accommodations were bright and clean. The journey on the Royal Mountaineer was elegant, but each day ended up being 14 hours which was way too long. The description said 9-10 hours and I didn't realize that meant each day, and that those days ended up being longer. The service was excellent as was the scenery, just way too long on the train.Show moreTrip date: September 2024- Gail· September 27th, 2024A lot of changes were made at the last minute due to the fires in Jasper, so there were issues because of that. But our guide was terrific, and the places and excursions were all terrific. The train ride was excessively long: 14 hours for each of two days, so that we were very weary of sitting on the train, and we never saw Kamloops, just went to bed and got back up in the dark. Most of the train ride was not in the Rockies. The hosts on the train, though, were terrific. Ryan and I've forgotten the other guy's name, but he was particularly entertaining. The food was great. Likewise we had no time but an hour bus tour in Vancouver, which was a disappointment, and we had a half day in Victoria, also a disappiontment. We understood that some of these things were due to the fires and the last-minute changes in our schedule, so we went with the flow. All in all, the first half of the trip in Calgary and especially Banff were by far the best parts.Show moreTrip date: August 2024

Hotels were very comfortable. The only comment I would add that we had to get up very early to be at the bus between and 8. Then after having the excursion we had the whole afternoon for ourselves.
